He lamented that the home depended on donations and gifts from philanthropists, individuals and organizations thus making the day-to-day operations very challenging. He, however, noted that freewill donations give the inmates a sense of acceptability and assurance that society is interested in their wellbeing. Mr. Awuku used the occasion to solicit for support in kind and cash for the skills training department located at the centre. This departed requires machinery and materials for production in order to run at maximum capacity to generate income internally for the upkeep of the inmates.
Mrs. Chadam in her statement commended Mr. Awuku for his selfless contribution towards the management of the crippled Home. She expressed her inner desire to present the items before the year 2013 ends, as her contribution towards society and especially the physically disadvantaged.  She noted that she understands and appreciates the conditions of these socially disadvantaged persons because her last child also has an impairment. She pledged her support and interest in the activities of the home and assured them of her constant visit anytime she is closer to the Home.
At the time of the visit, most of the inmates have returned home to celebrate Christmas with their families.
